Happy Aniversary!

Today marks two years since I married the man that I love. I can't tell you how amazing it is, and how many fun (and funny) times we've had.

But how great is he? These are just a few of the awesome things he does:

  1. Always takes the trash out.
  2. Spoons me so I can fall asleep.
  3. Tells me he loves me literally 100 times a day.
  4. Remembers to get me chocolate when he gets a Mt. Dew.
  5. Gives Caleb baths and reads to him.
Yep, I love him, love him, love him. I met Michael when I was 15 and a freshman in high school. I could tell he was a bona fide hottie, so I let him kiss me. We had a little fling and went our separate ways.
Then we both ended up on the ballroom team. We hung out with the same group of friends. He helped his best friend ask me to prom. We played cards at his house and drove around in his Karmann Ghia. But we were always arguing and claimed to hate each other.
He graduated and went to the University of Utah. I went on study abroad in London. Upon my return, I attended his mission farewell. And off he went to serve in Colorado Springs.
I didn't write him once. He loves to bug me about that. I went to UVU and studied History.
Then, July 2006, he comes home. Four days later we run into each other at a party we were both dragged to. He gets my number and the next day calls me to hang out.
Our first "date" consisted of getting Slurpees from 7-Eleven and watching Empire Records at my apartment. I hyperventilated the whole time because his hand was so close to my knee.
A week later we were dating. And for the first time in a relationship I was being challanged. Michael was the first to say I love you, the first to mention marriage.
And on October 11, he planned the perfect proposal and asked me to be his wife.
We were married January 13, 2007.

Perfect love story? I think so. Perfect for us.

I love you, Hottie!

One year ago today I give birth to this little angel:

Three weeks before my due date, and after 30 hours of labor I got

He weighed in at 5 lbs and 9 oz and was 18 inches tall. Since that second he has been the light and love of our lives. And now he is one and

This little monkey.

Latest Fav

Our favorite thing to snack right now are these lovely tortillas. We pan fry them with shredded cheddar cheese to yummy cheesy quesidillas. Michael makes them best. We eat them morning, noon, and night. (Especially night while we watch a show together :])

Love them!

Oh, how the years go by

Being the silly kind of sentimental person that I am, I've been thinking lately about the people who mean the most to me. Maybe because it's Christmastime, maybe because tomorrow is Tim's one year mark on his mission. Anyone who has had a sibling on a mission knows that it is wonderful and it greatly blesses your family. The time really does go by quickly. But it doesn't. And having a brother and a sister gone at the same time! Especially when they are two of your best friends in the world. Well, you miss them. There are times when you miss those moments...

So the moral is- even though I'm all "grown up" and am a wife and a mother with a family of my own... I still need my TT and Rayjuice. I couldn't be more pleased that they are out serving the Lord. But I want them to come home soon, so we can do more of this.

THE END

Book Love

Michael likes to read XKCD comics. (See http://xkcd.com/) Obviously he has a more highly evolved sense of humor than me. If you have never heard of these, you are probably safe from nerddom. If you have, then no explanation is needed. Oftentimes they are far over my head because I am not privy to inside jokes about LISP and Python. When I do get them, they can be pretty freaking funny, though. I must admit the guy who writes them is a genius. I now know the truth about myself. I am a nerd, through and through, because this is me. Totally and completely me.

Cub's first Halloween and a Happy Birthday to me

On Halloween we had a party with our families to jointly celebrate Cub's first Halloween and my 23rd birthday (which was the day after Halloween). Caleb was a fearsome dragon, and I was Alice in Wonderland. I made both of our costumes on my new sewing machine, and they turned out pretty great if I do say so myself.

Notice Veggie Tales on in the background. Caleb is really into Veggie Tales

Even dragons get kisses from their mommies
I want that camera!

I got quite spoiled with presents, too! Thanks everyone! The morning after, on my actual birthday, Michael completely surprised me with an overnight getaway. My parents picked up Caleb, and we went out shopping then to dinner at the restaurant of my choice (Outback, complete with cheesy fries) and then to the Red Lion for the night, where he completely pampered me. I have the best husband! It was definitely the best Halloween/birthday combo I've ever had.
