Oompa Loompa

Two of Caleb's favorite things right now are eating real food, and sucking on his fist constantly. Unfortunately, sometimes he tries to combine the two, and last night this resulted in him spreading sweet potatoes all over his face. We decided he looked like an Oompa Loompa. The picture does not do it justice, his face was orange. Caleb thought it was hilarious, especially after mommy started snapping pictures. He thought he was going to get away without having a bath. Caleb hates baths.

Even Celebrities Get Celebrity Crushes...

So, I'm a fan of Sarah Brown, an actress who used to play Carly on General Hospital. She's now back on the show as a different character (that's soaps for ya), and has also been on several shows like Monk, The Closer, and Without A Trace. Anyway, I think she's awesome. She has a Facebook account, and is really good about interacting with her fans and stuff. Well, it turns out she is totally in luvvv with David Cook from American Idol. She even created a group to help get David's attention to get him to be her date for the Emmy awards. So we can all feel better about any secret celeb crushes we harbor, because aparantly we are all human.

Random Pictures of Sorts

I never did a post about Caleb's baby blessing, but these are some pictures of us holding him on blessing day, and a few random other, just cause I thought they were cute and wanted to put them up.

Major Changes

So, it has been a long time since the last update, but it has been one crazy hectic month. Also, right now I have bronchitis, so I haven't been feeling too well. Here are few things that have happened: my sister Rachel left on her mission; Michael and I decided to move to South Jordan so he can go to Neumont University; and Caleb grew a lot and ate his first solid food.

On May 21st Rachel went into the MTC. She is going to the Switzerland Geneva mission, French speaking. We are so excited for her and so proud of her! Her mission actually covers part of Switzerland, part of eastern France, part of Belgium, and Luxembourg. So she could end up in a lot of really cool places. She's going to make the greatest missionary! Here are some pictures of the morning she left. I cried. I don't know what I will do without my little sister!

Rachel and Caleb

Rachel and my mom
(I really like this one)

Caleb is getting so big! He is five months now and eating solids. First we started him on rice cereal, and he just barely had squash for the first time, which he loved. He gobbled it up much faster than he ever does rice cereal. I'm guessing it has a lot more flavor. These are pictures of his first feeding...

I am not sure about this...

I guess it is okay.

All done!

Squash face!

I'm the cutest baby ever!

Braving the Shots

Yesterday Caleb got to go to his four month checkup. He is now 11 pounds 9 ounces, and 23 and 1/2 inches long! He got shots, too. Four vaccines. He was very brave.

Today I got to the doctor. I have a pinched rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I started having terrible pain when I was about two months pregnant, but the fix is a Cortisone shot in the joint, and you can't have one while you're pregnant. So I had to wait until the baby was born, and then I kept putting it off. I finally went in today and got the Cortisone shot. I can honestly say it hurt worse than an epidural. But I tried to be brave like Caleb.

Get Fuzzy and Laughing

I came across this in my files today. It's one of mine and Michael's favorite cartoons. We saved it because it always makes us laugh.

Speaking of laughing....Caleb laughed for the first time last night! Michael was tickling him, and he looked up at his daddy and just giggled for about ten seconds. It was the sweetest noise. It sounded kind of like a wheeze with a little hiccup at the end.

Baby Compare

A few weeks ago I took Caleb into work with me for the day, and my coworker Jenalee brought her daughter Haylee in too. We took this picture of them together. Look how much smaller Caleb is than Haylee! And he is three weeks older! The little guy just started out so small he's having trouble catching up. Haylee was born at 8 lbs 11 oz, which is how much Caleb weighed at two months. At least he's lighter to carry! But look at the funny faces they are both making!
