So big!

Caleb is nine months old now, and I can't believe how big he is! It's gone by so fast. He has become such a little boy. He's so stubborn (like his Mama), and he's becoming independent, or thinks he is anyway. He says Dada now. He has a tooth and can clap his hands. He's decided crawling is dumb and won't do it. He prefers standing, so we think he's just going to go straight to walking.

He loves his jumper. Sometimes he jumps himself sleepy.

He went on his first trip out of state. Here he is at In and Out Burger in Las Vegas with Grandma.

We just love our little boy so much, and we feel so blessed to have him in our life. He's always making us laugh. He gives the best hugs and cuddles. He's happiest when he can hang out and just have his Mama and Daddy to himself. He is the happiest baby in the world. I love being a mommy!

I Can Do It All By Myself, Mama!

Caleb has recently decided he is big enough to feed himself. If I even try he will turn his head and shove the spoon away. So independence it is. He is pretty good at getting the spoon into his mouth, the problem is getting food onto the spoon. He loves trying to scoop food out of the bowl, but has yet to figure out that spoons are not flat, or that things spill. But the look of absolute concentration on his face is hilarious! He tries so hard. Watching him learn to do something for himself is so wonderful and so frustrating. It's hard to not just reach out and do it for him! Every time he gets it right we clap and he gets a huge smile and looks so proud of himself. As you can see, though, he gets most of it on himself and the highchair.

Pure Fun

Saturday I saw the movie Mamma Mia with my mom. I don't remember the last time I had so much fun in a movie. I laughed so hard I cried! It didn't matter if everything wasn't perfect or if someone hit a note wrong, because you could tell that the actors had so much fun making the movie that you couldn't help but enjoy it too! Some favorite parts: the men in blue sequined jumpsuits, the flipper dance, the Does Your Mother Know? song, and of course Dancing Queen. I highly recommend seeing this for a girls night out or if you just need some cheering up. It was pretty great.

We made it!

We made it to our new house in Daybreak in South Jordan! It is gorgeous and we love it. We are still unpacking, but as soon as everything is put together and pretty I'll post some pictures. Here's one of the front porch for now. Just wanted everyone to know we're still alive!

Oompa Loompa

Two of Caleb's favorite things right now are eating real food, and sucking on his fist constantly. Unfortunately, sometimes he tries to combine the two, and last night this resulted in him spreading sweet potatoes all over his face. We decided he looked like an Oompa Loompa. The picture does not do it justice, his face was orange. Caleb thought it was hilarious, especially after mommy started snapping pictures. He thought he was going to get away without having a bath. Caleb hates baths.

Even Celebrities Get Celebrity Crushes...

So, I'm a fan of Sarah Brown, an actress who used to play Carly on General Hospital. She's now back on the show as a different character (that's soaps for ya), and has also been on several shows like Monk, The Closer, and Without A Trace. Anyway, I think she's awesome. She has a Facebook account, and is really good about interacting with her fans and stuff. Well, it turns out she is totally in luvvv with David Cook from American Idol. She even created a group to help get David's attention to get him to be her date for the Emmy awards. So we can all feel better about any secret celeb crushes we harbor, because aparantly we are all human.
